We care for mother earth. While we are a new brand, and quite small, we hope we can make a difference, not only to our customers but to the industry as a whole. To do this we make the following commitments:
Fabrics
Sustainable fabrics, lining.
Hygiene stickers
By law, all swim products need hygiene stickers. Ours are eco-friendly.
Packaging
We use compostable, plant-based tissue paper and mail bags that have been printed with soy-based ink. These can break down in your home compost in less than 180 days.
Swing tags
When considering our packaging and swing tags, we looked into sustainable options but could not find a suitably sustainable alternative for attaching swing tags. Therefore we decided to get rid of them altogether, along with any other excess, unnecessary fluff.
Design
Our collections are small. This is so we can get a good idea of what customers do and don’t want, without over-producing. We have also decided to release only a small number of each item in each size. If there is high demand for a certain product, we will consider opening up a pre-order for a second release. This is so everybody can get what they want without holding onto excess, unwanted garments.
Manufacturing
We pride ourselves on responsible manufacturing. We are dedicated to making quality pieces that are strictly sourced from suppliers who operate responsibly and ethically. We are delighted to work with a factory that aligns with our values. We have partnered with a small factory in Bali with no more than 20 employees.
The factory is audited annually against the following criteria:
- FAIR PAY All of our factory’s employees are not only paid above minimum wage, but also above the living wage.
- THE RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION & COLLECTIVE BARGAINING All employees have the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining and, with distinction, can join or form unions.
- NO CHILD OR BONDED LABOUR We do not tolerate child or bonded labour in any area of our supply chain. Our factory is audited to ensure all staff are of legal working age.
- OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY When selecting our factory, OH&S compliance was at the forefront of our criteria. Our factory ensures safe working conditions for all staff.
- Every garment we release will be shown on at least 6 different models spanning our entire size range. Currently this size range is AU6-26.
- We will aim to cast models for our campaign imagery who are not only representative of our community in the size they wear, but also in their race, gender identity, sexual orientation and ability.
- We have created a separate bank account where we will deposit $2 from every single order on a weekly basis. We will monitor for social causes (both local and abroad) and use the funds within this bank account to directly donate to causes close to our brands values when they arise. We will be completely transparent with these donations and share with our audience across our website and social channels. By doing this, we hope to set an example for other, more powerful fashion brands to follow our lead.
